Chhattisgarh Implements New Shop and Establishment Act: Stores Can Now Operate 24/7!

Raipur, Chhattisgarh: In a significant policy shift aimed at boosting business flexibility and ensuring employee welfare, the Chhattisgarh government has implemented the New Shop and Establishment Act 2025, replacing the earlier 1958 Act and 1959 rules. Under this new legislation, stores and commercial establishments with more than 10 employees can now remain open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Vishnu Deo Sai-led government has introduced this reform to provide relief to small business owners while ensuring labor rights.
