NIT Raipur Hosts PRAVARTAN 2024 – A Flagship Startup Outreach Event to Boost Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Early-Stage Investment
Raipur, 27 December 2024 – The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur, through its Incubation Centre, the NIT Raipur Foundation for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (NITRRFIE), successfully hosted Pravartan 2024, a premier startup outreach event, on 27th December 2024. In collaboration with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), the event focused on fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and early-stage investment within India’s startup ecosystem. The event attracted a diverse mix of entrepreneurs, investors, and students, showcasing the rising demand for entrepreneurial opportunities in India.
Keynote Speakers Share Insights on Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The event kicked off with powerful keynote speeches from prominent figures. Prof. Samir Bajpai, Head of the Career Development Centre at NIT Raipur, shared the institute’s vision for nurturing India’s next generation of entrepreneurs. Dr. Anuj Kumar Shukla, Professor In-charge of the Incubation Cell, elaborated on NITRRFIE’s role in supporting startup incubation, mentorship, and innovation.
Representatives from SIDBI, including Mr. Vijay Kumar Singh, DGM, and Mr. Anupam Srivastava, Manager, spoke about the bank’s efforts to empower MSMEs and startups through financial support and other initiatives. Ms. Suhani Kumar, Manager at Startup India, highlighted the government’s strong support mechanisms for emerging startups in India.
Startup Pitching Session: Connecting Entrepreneurs with Investors
One of the key highlights of Pravartan 2024 was the startup pitching session, where startups presented their innovative business ideas to a distinguished panel of investors. The panel included Mr. Rajiv Raghunandan, Managing Partner at Arali Ventures; Ms. Richa Bajpai, Founder & CEO of Campus Fund; and Mr. Rohan Pichai, Analyst at Unicorn India Ventures.
The investors engaged in dynamic discussions, provided valuable feedback, and explored investment opportunities. Six startups received positive responses from the investors, with many expressing interest in further investment discussions.

SIDBI played a crucial role in the event, emphasizing its ongoing initiatives to provide financial support and business development services to MSMEs and emerging startups. During the event, Ms. Suhani Kumar, Manager at Startup India, spoke about the government’s support programs for startups. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Mr. Pawan Kataria, Assistant Registrar at NIT Raipur.
